CARSON, RHODA - It is with great sadness that the family announces the death of Rhoda Arthurene Carson of Campbellton which occurred at the Campbellton Regional Hospital on Thursday, September 8th, 2011 at the age of 83. Born in Barkers Point, NB on November 15th, 1927 she was the daughter of the late Gilbert and Clara (Smith) Jordan and was the wife of the late William J. Carson. She was a member of the United Pentecostal Church of Tide Head. Rhoda is survived by one son, Fred (Juanita) Carson of Islandview; three daughters, Clara Carson-Maston of Sussex, Maude (Pat) McSorley of Penniac and Rhoda (Murray) Carrier of Atholville; six grandchildren; four step-grandchildren; six great grandchildren; 11 step-great grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. She was the last surviving member of her immediate family. In addition to her parents and husband, Rhoda was predeceased by her brothers, Percy, Ralph, Gilbert, Gerald and Eldon; and sisters, Pansy, Arthurene and Clara.
Visitation will be held at McAdam's Funeral Home, 160 York St., on Monday, September 12th, 2011 from 2 to 4 & 7 to 9 pm.
The funeral service will be held at Capital Community Church, 71 Downing St., on Tuesday, September 13th at 2 pm with Rev. Raymond Woodward officiating. Interment will be in Sunny Bank Cemetery.
