James "Jim" Taylor
TAYLOR, JAMES FREDERICK “JIM” - It is with great sadness the family announces the passing of James “Jim” Taylor which occurred at The Saint John Regional Hospital after a brief illness on September 9, 2011. Born in Marysville, NB on July 14, 1924 he was the son of the late William Frederick and Grace Taylor (Hughes). Besides his parents he was predeceased by his wife Mary Noreen (McCarron), his son James Frederick Jr. and his brother John Ardeen. Jim is survived by his daughter Mary Luckett (David) of Milledgeville, NB, daughter Patti Taylor (Norman Kenny) of Hampton, NB, son Dr. Michael J. Taylor (Wendy) of Quispamsis, NB and daughter Kathryn Taylor of Red Deer, AB. He was a loving grandfather to Corey Taylor (Madeline Foster), Heather Tait (Jamie), Elizabeth Johnston (Richard Pearson) and Jeffrey Taylor (Jamie). He was great-grandfather to Grace, Christopher, Sidney, Owen, Taylor and Evynn. Jim will be remembered as an avid outdoorsman who loved hunting, fishing, bird watching and gardening. He was self-employed for several years as a manufacturing salesman and started his own company JF Taylor Enterprises Ltd. in 1974, retiring in 1993. He was a founding member of the UCT Jack Kidd Council and a member of Ducks Unlimited. Jim had a love of animals and he will be greatly missed by his canine friends Abby, Sammy and Snookum’s and his feline friend Tom.
Resting at Fundy Funeral Home, 230 Westmorland Road (646-2424) with visitation on Tuesday, September 13, 2011 from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. A Memorial Service will be held from Fundy Funeral Home Chapel on Wednesday, September 14, 2011 at 2 p.m. A private family interment will follow in St. Joseph’s Cemetery.
