The death occurred peacefully at the Prince County Hospital, Summerside, P.E.I., on Monday, Oct. 12, 2009, of Louise Maxine Gallant (nee Marshall) of Borden-Carleton, and formerly of Summerside, P.E.I., aged 81 years. Louise was born on July 10, 1928, in Windsor, N.S., to her late parents, Joseph and Matilda (Bourgeois) Marshall. Beloved wife of Wilfred Gallant and loving mother of Ann (Bruce) Campbell of Borden-Carleton, Wilfred (Linda) of Halifax, N.S., Chris of Halifax, N.S., Micheal (Jeannette) of Dartmouth, N.S., Barry (life-partner Herbie) of Indian River, Merrick (Donna) of Summerside and David (Christine) of Travellers Rest. Also lovingly remembered by her 15 grandchildren, six great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. Survived by her brothers and sisters: Donnie (Gloria) Marshall of Medicine Hat. Alta., Hilda Walsh of Windsor, N.S., Raymond Marshall of Halifax, N.S., Frank (Winnie) Marshall of N.S., Colleen ( Ralph ) Langille of N.S. and Wanda Walsh of Toronto, Ont. Besides her parents, Louise was predeceased by her brothers, Sam, George, Charlie, Murray, John, Joseph and James Marshall and her sisters, Nora Riley and Ivy Moore. Resting at East Prince Funeral Home, 245 Pope Rd., Summerside, until Friday, Oct. 16, then to St. Peter’s Church, Seven Mile Bay, for funeral mass at 10 a.m. Interment to take place in the church cemetery. Memorial donations in Louise’s memory to the Alzheimer Society of P.E.I. or the P.E.I. Lung Association would be greatly appreciated. Visiting hours on Thursday, 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m..
