Passed away peacefully in the arms of her loving children on Saturday, September 10, 2011. Helen McGrath (Shannahan), age 83. Predeceased by her husband John (Jack) and grandson John Blackwood. Leaving to mourn her three daughters; Sheilagh McGrath (Richard Rogers), Dianne McGrath (Paul Blackwood) and Tessa McGrath. One son John (Connie). Four grandchildren whom she adored; Melissa, Emma, Erin and Ben. Also her loving dog Tootsie; as well as a large circle of relatives and friends. Helen was the last of eight children of Ron and Julia Shannahan of Riverhead Harbour Grace, Eileen, Teresa, Gertrude, Loretta, Gerald, Nick, Leo. Resting at Caul’s Funeral Home, LeMarchant Road. Visitation will take place on Monday from 6 p.m. – 9 p.m. and Tuesday from 2 p.m. – 4 p.m. and 6 p.m. – 9 p.m. Funeral Mass to take place on Wednesday, September 14th, 2011 at 11 a.m. from St. Teresa’s Church. Interment to follow at Holy Sepulchre Cemetery. Flowers gratefully accepted or donations in Helen’s memory may be made to St. Vincent de Paul Society, St. Teresa’s Church.
