RODNEY, Flora Maude – 88, of Vancouver Place in Yarmouth, passed away peacefully on September 5, 2011, at Yarmouth Regional Hospital. Born March 12, 1923 in Yarmouth, she was a daughter of the late Everette and Anna Marguerite (Harris) Bain. Flora will be remembered as a loving mother, sister, aunt, nanny to her four-legged grandkids and being a great cook. She had a habit of breaking things, which she enjoyed having her “fixer-upper” son-in-law, David, repair them for her. Flora also loved taking daytrips and going on adventures; there were times where she would go exploring and nobody would know where she had been. She will be missed and survived by daughter, Anna “Anne” (David) Muise, Wellington; brother, Clayton (Anne) Bain, NFLD.; special nephews, Hughie, Charles and Everette Bain; special sister-in-law, Ruth Bain; very special friends, Gloria and Florence Sheffield; her precious Missy, which has kept her going for the past three years; as well as six four-legged grandchildren. She was predeceased by husband, Hugh E. Rodney; brothers, Harry and Charles; as well as a brother in infancy. Funeral arrangements have been entrusted to Sweeny’s Funeral Home & Crematorium Ltd. in Yarmouth. There will be no visitation or funeral service by family request. Interment took place in Chegoggin Cemetery. Family flowers only, please. Donations in Flora’s memory may be made to the Yarmouth SPCA or Yarmouth Hospital Foundation.
