CUTHBERTSON, KENNETH G. - Kenneth, Cuthbertson, 86, beloved husband and father, died Sunday, September 11, 2011 at Ridgewood Veteran's Wing, Saint John. Ken was born in 1924 in Saint John, NB, son of Ruth (Scribner) and George Cuthbertson. Following service in the Army at the end of WWII he worked at T. McAvity's and Sons. He worked for the CNR for nearly 40 years, finishing his railroad career by conducting the Via Atlantic before retiring in 1987. He was an avid fly fisherman, hunter, boater and snowmobiler, spending many happy hours on the Miramichi and on Turtle Lake. Pre-deceased by his parents, brothers Donald and William and sister Ruth, Ken is survived by his wife, Hilda (Knowles), son Richard (Evelyn) and daugthers Deborah (Rev. John Boyd) and Rev. Barbara (Rev. Brad Putnam), and grandchildren Tracey, Anthony, David, Adam, Alaina and great-grandson, Christian.
A memorial service will be held on Wednesday, September 14 at 1 pm at the Grand Bay Baptist Church. No flowers, by request. The family would like to thank the staff of Ridgewood Veteran's Wing for their amazing care and compassion of Ken over the past year.
