HANSEN, Arnold Formann - 87, of Canning, Kings County, passed away Sunday, September 4, 2011 in the Windsor Elms. Born in Grafton, New Brunswick he was a son of the late Rasmus and Clara (Formann) Hansen. He was a Veteran of the Second World War and a Life Member of the Royal Canadian Legion, Habitant Branch No. 73, Canning. He had been employed with the Canadian Armed Forces and later worked as a civilian with the Department of National Defense, retiring in 1975. He is survived by a daughter, Janet (Ed) Frederick, Windsor; a son, Brian (Glenda), Kentville; a daughter-in-law, Jolene Hansen, Smith Falls, Ontario; six grandchildren, eight great grandchildren; nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his wife, the former Pauline Burton; a son, Barry; three brothers and their wives. Cremation has taken place. Visitation was held from 6-8 p.m. Thursday, September 8, 2011 with a Royal Canadian Legion service held at 7:00 p.m. in the White Family Funeral Home, Kentville, where the funeral service, followed by a reception, was held at 2:00 p.m. Friday, September 9, 2011, Reverend David Garrett officiating. Burial will take place at a later date in the Wakefield Cemetery, New Brunswick. The family wishes to express their sincere appreciation to the staff of the Windsor Elms for their care, kindness, support and compassion.
