PERRY, JANET - The death of Janet Joyce Perry, loving wife of the late Bennett “Ben” John Perry, occurred on Saturday, September 10, 2011 at The Church of St. John & St. Stephen Nursing Home. Born 1935 in Saint John, she was the daughter of the late Charles and Grace (Stewart) Preston. Janet worked as a Ward Aide for the General Hospital for several years retiring in 1975. She was a member of the KBM where she enjoyed the seniors card parties. Janet loved knitting, playing bingo, clogging and singing songs that the love of her life and best friend Ben wrote for her. They also enjoyed the country music at the Saint John Marina and Brown’s Flat Legion, as well as many wonderful summers at their cottage in Mill River East PEI. She is survived by her daughter Miss Sharon Perry of Saint John; one son Douglas (Nancy) Perry of Martinon; grandchildren Kevin and Nicholas; brother Reg (Shirley) Preston of NS; sisters Margaret Austin of Musquash and Isobel Carr of Saint John; several cousins, nieces and nephews. Besides her parents and husband, she was predeceased by her brother George Preston, sister Ruth King and infant granddaughter Nicole Perry.
Arrangements are under the direction of Fundy Funeral Home, 230 Westmorland Road (646-2424) with visitation on Wednesday, September 14, 2011 from 3 to 7 pm. A memorial service will be held from Fundy Funeral Home Chapel on Thursday, September 15, 2011 at 10 am. Interment will be held on Saturday, September 17, 2011 at 1 p.m. in St. Anthony’s Catholic Church Cemetery, Bloomfield, PEI.
