On Oct. 12, 2009, Greg lost a four-month battle with cancer; with his wife Judy and other family members by his side.
Born in Glace Bay, he was a son of the late Michael and Dorothy (Reynolds) Arsenault.
Greg worked at Shore Food Fair for 15 years and was a miner for 20 years. Greg loved fishing, reading and his Sunday drives with Judy.
Survived by his loving wife of 37 years, Judy (nee MacIntyre); four children, Gregory ‘Zeke’ (Terry), Russell (Kathy), Gary and Cora (Brian); granddaughter, Carol Ann; brother, Raymond (Mary), Glace Bay; sister, Mary MacLean, Sydney; as well as many nieces and nephews.
Besides his parents, Greg was predeceased by four brothers, Joey, Michael ‘Butch’, Alan and Billy, and sister, Elsie Devison.
Viewing this evening (Wednesday) 7-9 p.m. in Curry’s Funeral Home, 775 Main St., Glace Bay, followed by cremation. Funeral Mass, Friday, 11 a.m. in St. Leo’s Church, Fr. Leo Boone officiating.
Donations in Greg’s memory may be made to Cancer patient care fund or charity of choice.
The family would like to thank the nursing staff of 3East at the Glace Bay Health Care Facility for their kindness and support; Palliative Care and the VON for their care; and a special thank you to Fr. Boone for his support and prayers.
