James Adam Rogerson, age 60, of Baie Verte, passed away peacefully at his home while surrounded by his family on Thursday, October 8, 2009, after a courageous battle with cancer.
Born in Sackville, he was a son of the late David and Eileen (Clark) Rogerson.
He was a member of the Westmorland Lodge #44 F&M, a member of the Eastern Star and a member of the St. James United Church, Baie Verte. He worked with Corrections Canada as an electrician and an instructor. As an avid outdoorsman, he enjoyed fishing and hunting.
A caring and loving husband, father, grandfather, brother and uncle, he will be sadly missed by his wife Deborah (Reade), Baie Verte; sons Adam, Moncton, Gregory (Tara), Vermont; daughter Stacy (Blair) Currie, Halifax, NS; special niece Annette (Jonathon) Allen, Baie Verte; five grandchildren, Tayte, Livia, Eli, Ian, Edwin; two sisters Patricia (Roger) Ward, Sackville, Nettie (Roland) Wells, Anderson Settlement; brother David (Dorothy), Tantallon, NS; and several nieces and nephews.
In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by a sister Corinne Wells.
Cremation has taken place under the care of the Jones Funeral Home, 3 West Main St., Port Elgin, NB (506-538-2241) where visiting hours will take place on Sunday, October 11, 2009 from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 pm. The funeral service will be held from the St. James United Church, Baie Verte, on Monday, October 12, 2009 at 2 pm, Rev. Dr. James Shaffner officiating. Burial will follow in the Baie Verte Cemetery.
