SCOTT, DONALD G. - It is with great sadness that the family announces the passing of Donald G. Scott on Monday, September 12, 2011 at St. Joseph’s Hospital. Born on July 11, 1935 in Saint John, NB, he was the son of the late George and Rosina Scott. He is survived by his wife Beatrice (Ross) Scott, daughter Barbara Smith, son Bert (Jennifer) Scott and his special buddy, grandson Michael, his sister Shirley (George) Fifield, and several nieces and nephews. Don worked most of his life for T. S. Simms & Co Limited, retiring in 1993. Don was an avid Montreal Canadian’s and LA Dodger’s fan, and enjoyed umpiring baseball, coaching Little League, playing shuffleboard with the men’s league at the Church, attending Michael’s Hockey and Baseball games, and cheering his Hab’s and Dodger’s on. He loved going for walks, and even when people stopped to offer him a drive, he’d just laugh and wave them on.
Resting at Brenan’s Bay View Funeral Home, 1461 Manawagonish Road, Saint John West (634-7425), with visiting on Wednesday and Thursday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9pm. The funeral service will be held from Lancaster Baptist Church on Friday September 16, 2011 at 1:00pm. Interment will take place in Greenwood Cemetery..
