McINTYRE, Ronald Allan Joseph “Ron” – 77, Truro, passed away peacefully on Monday, September 12, 2011, at Colchester Regional Hospital, Truro. Born August 25, 1934, in Halifax, he was a son of the late Raymond and Helen (McIsaac) McIntyre. Ron was a member of Immaculate Conception Roman Catholic Church. He worked for 29 years with Canadian Armed Forces and retired from Nova Scotia Teachers College where he worked as a commissionaire. An avid sports enthusiast, he tried his hand in all sports but especially enjoyed golfing and bowling. Ron is survived by his loving wife of 45 years, Yolande (Grondin); children, Christine (Darryl) Erskine, Raymond “Ray” McIntyre (Shannon Landsburg), Michelle (Raymon) Brush, all of Truro; grandchildren, Justine and Johnathan Janes, Blake Erskine, Sammy-Jo Surrette, Landon Keats, Hannah and Bethany Brush, Tyler and Marshall Brush; siblings, Connie (George) Hachey, Halifax; Edmund “Buddy” McIntyre, Ontario; Janet (Rodney) Burns, Falmouth; Marion (Don) Rocque, Ontario; several sisters-in-law and brothers-in-law in Quebec; several nieces and nephews. Arrangements have been entrusted to Mattatall ~ Varner Funeral Home, 55 Young Street, Truro, where Ron’s family will receive friends from 6-9 p.m., Thursday, September 15, 2011. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated 11 a.m., Friday, September 16, 2011, in Immaculate Conception Roman Catholic Church, 669 Prince Street, Truro, Father Dariusz Miskowicz officiating. Reception will follow in the church hall. Interment in Immaculate Conception Cemetery, 125 Robie Street, Truro. Family flowers only. If so desired, donations in Ron’s memory to Heart and Stroke Foundation of Nova Scotia are welcomed.
