ANDERSON, EARLE D. - It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Earle Douglas Anderson on Tuesday, September 13th, 2011 at York Manor Nursing Home. Earle was born in Kingsley, New Brunswick on February 13th, 1917 to the late George and Lavina Anderson. Earle married Freda (Shipley) Anderson on September 15th, 1943. Earle was predeceased by his parents; two sisters Ethel Hartt and Helen Arbeau and a grandson Paul Anderson. He is survived by his wife Freda; two sons, Allister (Anna) of Hanwell and Rodger (Sylvia) of Charters Settlement; four grandchildren, June (Paul) DeMerchant of Hanwell, Michael (Wanda) Anderson of London, Ontario, Karen (Rockland) Miller of Charters Settlement and Teena (John) MacDougall of Fredericton; ten great grandchildren, Katie, Laura and Robert DeMerchant, Peter, Gwen and Claire Anderson, Thomas and Jenna Miller, Jessica Anderson-Green and Leigh-Anna MacDougall; several nieces and nephews. Earle worked for a number of years for the Hartt Boot and Shoe Factory as a Foreman in the Cutting Department before moving to Hamilton, Ontario where he retired and moved back to Fredericton. He was a long time member of Brunswick Street Baptist Church.
The family will receive condolences at Bishop’s Funeral Home, 540 Woodstock Road, Fredericton, on Wednesday, September 14, 2011 from 7 to 9 P.M. A celebration of Earle’s life will be held from Bishop’s Funeral Home Chapel on Thursday, September 15, 2011 at 2:00 P.M. with Rev. Ralph Irving officiating. Interment to follow in the Douglas Rural Cemetery. Pallbearers will be three grandsons, Paul DeMerchant, Michael Anderson, Rockland Miller and three great grandsons, Robert DeMerchant, Peter Anderson and Thomas Miller. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the charity of your choice. The family would like to express their sincere appreciation to the staff of York Manor for the excellent care that they gave to Earle during his stay there.
