SAUNDERS, Viola Vera "Dee" — 93, Falmouth, Hants Co., passed away peacefully Tuesday, August 30, 2011. Born July 7, 1918 in Upper Vaughan, she was a daughter of the late Arthur and Nina (Rafuse) Church. Viola is survived by sisters, Frances Blinn and Pauline Davison; many nieces and nephews and great nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her husband, Daniel W. Saunders; sisters, Florence, Effie, Alice, Ruth, Evelyn, Kaye, Isabel and Joyce; brothers, Thornton and Oliver. Viola worked for MT&T and CKF. She loved life and loved the outdoors. Arrangements were entrusted to Lohnes-DeMont Funeral and Cremation Service, 419 Albert St., PO Box 981, Windsor, NS B0N 2T0 (902-798-8317), where the family received visitors from 7-9 p.m. on Thursday, September 1. Funeral service was held at 2 p.m. Friday, September 2, in Lohnes-DeMont Funeral Service Chapel, Rev.
Michael Boyd officiating. Burial was held in Maplewood Cemetery, Windsor, followed by a reception in the funeral home's Elmcroft Reception Centre. Family flowers only, by request.
