DAVIS, WILLIAM - The death of Mr. William “Billy” John Davis of Saint John, East loving husband to Velma (Van Weston) Davis occurred on Sunday, September 11, 2011 at the Saint John Regional Hospital. Born August 28, 1942 in Saint John, he was a son of the late Charles A. and Edna (Bailey) Davis. Billy was a Heavy Equipment Operator for the City of Saint John for forty-two years retiring in 2003. He loved the outdoors, as he was an avid hunter and fisherman. Besides his loving wife Velma of 46 years. he is survived by his children William John Davis Jr., Carter Joseph Davis (Terry) and Lee Arsenault (Judy) all of Saint John; brother Charles “Sonny” Alfred Davis (Judy) of Saint John; sisters Dorothy Israel (Charles) of Saint John, and Rose Mary Davis of Toronto, ON; six grandchildren Matthew, Charisa, Dakota, Noah, William, and Jacob; several cousins, nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by a sister Joan Culbert.
No visiting or funeral service by family request. Interment for family and close friends will take place at a later date. Donations to the United Way or the Canadian Cancer Society would be appreciated by the family.
