THORNE, LINDA - 1952 - 2011 - Linda Thorne passed away with her family by her side on Monday, September 12th, 2011 following a lengthy illness. Born in Moncton, June 21st, 1952, she was the daughter of the late Ronald Ivan and Hazel Hilda (Wilbur) Rice. Linda was employed by The Scotia Bank, St. George Street, Moncton for 19 years, and was recently the building supervisor at Church Court, Moncton, where her personable care and attention to maintenance and resident care needs were highly appreciated. She attended Uplands Baptist Church where she was active as a Sunday School Teacher, teller, greeter, and usher. She will be sadly missed by Wade her husband of 37 years, sons Jeffrey Ronald Thorne (Tiffany) and Ryan Wade Thorne granddaughter AnnaBella Thorne, grandson James Ronald Thorne, all of Moncton, sisters; Nancy Thorne (Eric) of Salisbury, Susan Steeves (Richard) of Moncton, half sister Sandra Hickey (Fintan) of Parksville BC, and brother John Rice (Linda) Of Moncton, as well as several nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents Linda was predeceased by her sister Judith Anne.
Visitation will be held at Fair Haven Funeral Home on Thursday evening September 15th, from 7 to 9 pm. The funeral service will take place on Friday, September 16th at 2:00 pm in the Chapel of Fair Haven Funeral Home, Pastor Gordon James officiating, followed by a reception in the Garden View Reception Room. Interment will be in Fair Haven Memorial Gardens. Memorial donations in Linda's memory may be made to the Canadian Cancer Society, The Gideon’s, or a memorial of the donor’s choice.
