Rosalie Legere

The death of Rosalie Mary Legere occurred in Halifax on September 13th,2011, after a lengthily illness, at the age of 95 years.
Rosalie was born on August 21, 1916 in Sackville, N.B. She was a daughter of the late Phelicien and Leonie Landry. She moved to Amherst as a child.
She was married in 1940 to Lionel Legere, who predeceased her 1985. She was also predeceased by sisters, Anita Landry, Arzalie Thibodeau and Euphimie LeBlanc and by brothers Alphie, Gerald, Earl and Blair. Also predeceased by a great-grandson, John.
Rosalie is survived by her two daughters, Diana (Ron) Albert of Edmonton; and Margaret Rose (Charles) Brake of Middle Sackville,NS and her two sons, Roderick (Joyce) Legere, Pembroke, Ontario and Peter (Kathy) Legere of Dartmouth.
She was a loving grandmother of 14 grandchildren: Emma Legere, Alex Legere, Matthew Legere, Andree Legere, Charles Brake, Charlene Fenn, Bruce Cormier, Steven Cormier, Leanne Widenmaier, Michael Legere, Rodney Legere, Nancy Legere, Valerie Legere, and Paula Legere ; and 12 great-grandchildren. Rosalie is also survived by her two sisters, Margaret Moor, Amherst and Josephine Belanger, Winnipeg as well as several nieces and nephews.
During her younger years Rosalie enjoyed quilting and knitting. She was a charter member of the St. Charles Ladies Auxilary. She loved to travel and enjoyed many vacations across Canada.
Her remains are resting at Campbells Funeral Home, 98 Church St. Amherst (667 9906). There will be visiting from 7-9 PM on Thursday, September 15th. Funeral Mass will be held will be held at Holy Family Roman Catholic Church, Amherst at 11 a.m. on Friday September 16, 2011 with Father Vernon Driscoll officiating.
