GALLANT, GÉRARD - (1921-2011) - ST. IGNACE, NB - Gérard Gallant, 90, passed away peacefully at the Villa Maria, St. Louis de Kent on Tuesday, September 13th, 2011. Born in St. Ignace, he was the son of the late Placide and late Léocadie (Desroches) Gallant. Before retiring, Gérard worked as a painter. Gérard will be sadly missed by his wife; Ursule (née Babineau) Gallant, his seven daughters; Odette Johnson (Telex) of Richibucto, Ethel Arsenault (Dollard) of St. Charles, Elva Gallant (Felix) of Moncton, Linda Drisdelle (Guy) of Dieppe, Angella Gallant of St. Charles, Huguette Gray (Albain) of Bretagneville, Noella Vautour (Fernand) of St. Louis, his four sons; Gilles (Rosa) of St. Ignace, Paul-Emile (Rosa) of Bretagneville, Edmond (Marie-Anne) of St. Ignace, Elmo of Moncton, his 18 grandchildren, 17 great grandchildren, his five sisters; Rose-Eva Richard (Alphée) St. Louis, Alice Robichaud (Paul-Emile) of St. Louis, Laurida Johnson (late Adelard) of St. Ignace, Germaine Gallant of Montreal, Rose-Anna Brideau (Bernard) of Fredericton, his three brothers; Philias (Yolande) of Ontario, Yvon (Rose-Mai) of St. Ignace, Valmont (Thérèse) of St. Ignace as well as by several nieces and nephews. Other than by his parents, Gérard is predeceased by his sister; Gemma Gallant F.M.A. and two brothers; Laurie and Paul-Emile.
Resting at Thompson Memorial Home, St. Louis de Kent with visitation on Thursday from 2:00 to 4:00pm and 7:00 to 9:00pm, and Friday from 2:00pm until the departure for the funeral. A funeral Mass will be held on Friday, September 16th, 2011 at 4:00pm at the St. Ignace de Loyola Roman Catholic Church, St. Ignace, followed by burial in the parish cemetery. If so desired, donations to the N.B. Heart and Stroke Foundation or to the Alzheimer’s Society would be appreciated by the family.
