At the Prince County Hospital, Summerside, on Wednesday, September 14, 2011 of Edwin King Lewis of Freetown, aged 84 years.
Born in Freetown, December 15, 1926, son of the late Colby and Elsie (Holmes) Lewis. Beloved husband for 62 years to Colleen (MacLean) Lewis. Dear father of Peter Lewis, Pugwash, NS, and Cathy (David) Kennedy, Freetown. Loving grandfather of Connor and Michael Kennedy, Freetown and Jennifer Kennedy, Summerside. Brother of Ira Lewis, York; Shirley Moore, Fredericton, NB; and Mary (Garth) Linkletter, Summerside. Brother-in-law of Richard (Mary) MacLean, Montague; Kent (Helena) MacLean, Lunenburg, NS; Katherine O'Leary, Dartmouth, NS; and Donald (Nancy) Longworth, Costa Rica. Also surviving are several nieces and nephews.
Predeceased by sister, Jean Longworth, of the mission field in Costa Rica; brother and sister-in-law, Claude and Mildred Lewis; sister-in-law, Vaunda Lewis; and brothers-in-law, Rev. Bruce Moore and John O'Leary.
Resting at the Davison Funeral Home, Kensington, for visitation on Friday from 3:30-5 and 7-9 p.m. Funeral Saturday in the Davison Funeral Home Chapel at 1:30 p.m. Interment in the Central Bedeque Baptist Cemetery.
