BARTER, Mary Elizabeth (nee Butler) - Passed peacefully away at St. Clare’s Hospital on Saturday, December 6, 2008 in the presence of her loving family, after a lengthy illness, Mary Elizabeth Barter, aged 79 years. Predeceased by her father and mother, Rev. William A. Butler and Mrs. Lilian Butler; her son George William in 1979; twin daughters, Cathy and Audrey in 1957; sisters Jean and Irene; brother Arthur. Leaving to mourn, loving husband of 55 years, Donald; daughters: Linda Mercer and Donna Lynn Barter; daughter-in-law Angela Barter; five grandchildren: Jimmy, Melissa, Donny, Christina and Chantelle; great-granddaughter Abigail; sisters: Rita Hefferton and Marion Rowe; also a large circle of other relatives and friends; especially friends Geoff and Jane Steele, George and Gertrude Miller, Noreen and Earl Richardson. Special thank you to nephew and wife, Harold and Barb Hefferton, niece Barbara Joy Hefferton and the nurses and doctors of the I.C.U. at St. Clare’s hospital, especially Dr. Paul Heneghan and family physician Dr. Elizabeth Callahan. Resting at Carnell’s Funeral Home, 329 Freshwater Road. Visitation from 2 to 5 p.m. and 7 to 9 p.m. on Tuesday, December 9. Funeral service on Wednesday, December 10, 2008 at 2:30 p.m. from the Anglican Cathedral of St. John the Baptist. Interment to follow in the Anglican Cemetery, Kenmount Road.
