In her 80th year, passed away peacefully on Tuesday ,September 13, 2011, surrounded by her loving family that formed the center of her life, at The Salvation Army Glenbrook Lodge, St. John’s, NL. Blanche was born in St. John’s, NL on August 13, 1931. She was predeceased by her husband Roy H. Wicks and mother Mabel Davis (Jones). Left with fond and loving memories are her daughters: Beverly (Terry) of Toledo, ON; Debbie (John) of New Glasgow, NS and Michelle of Halifax, NS; son, Darrell (Valerie) of St. John’s, NL; grandchildren: Deidre, Bill, Ryan, Shaun, Adam and Emily; great-grandchildren: Ella, Kayla, Olivia, Roy, Will and Cohen; brother, Kevin Davis (Geraldine). The family would like to extend thanks to Major Linda Budgell, Major Bruce and Darlene Colbourne and The Salvation Army Glenbrook Lodge staff who participated in our mother’s care, for their professionalism, dedication, compassion and care and for also making our mother’s stay comfortable and secure and who have been a tower of strength for us. Family will be accepting visitors at Carnell’s Funeral Home, 329 Freshwater Road, Wednesday 7-9 p.m. and Thursday 10-12 noon. Funeral service will be held from The Salvation Army Temple, Torbay Road, Thursday September 15, 2011 at 2:00 p.m. with a family interment to follow in The Salvation Army Cemetery, Blackmarsh Road. In lieu of flowers, donations in Blanche’s memory can be made to Juvenile Diabetes Association or The Salvation Army Glenbrook Lodge. To send a
