CUMMINGS, RALPH EDGAR - Ralph E. Cummings of Meductic, NB passed away September 14, 2011 at the age of 89 at Dow’s Special Care Home, Scotts Siding, NB. Born in 1922 at Dow Settlement, NB, he was a son of the late Bertram and Elizabeth (McLellan) Cummings. Ralph was a member of Meductic United Baptist Church and Golden Glow Seniors Club, a business owner (Cummings Bros. & Son), Supervisor of School Transportation, school bus driver and ambulance attendant. He was a man of many different trades, always working in the community in a helpful capacity, to his patrons and family and friends. Ralph is survived by his son, Hauley Cummings (Christine), Meductic, NB; a daughter, Gail LeBel (Ashley), Peterborough, ON; two grandsons, Trevor LeBel and Devin LeBel, Peterborough, ON; four sisters, Mary Collicott, Bulls Creek, NB, Jean Lloyd, Woodstock, NB, Esther Porter and Ruth Howland, both of Meductic, NB; a brother, Neil Cummings (Freda), Meductic, NB; a sister-in-law, Reta Cummings, Meductic, NB; several nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by his wife, Dorothy (Bragdon) Cummings in 2007; an infant son, Donnie Ralph; sisters, Phyllis Smith and Myrtle Tompkins; brothers, Woodrow, Raymond, Burdette and Russell Cummings.
Visiting hours will be held at Meductic United Baptist Church, 391 Route 165, Meductic, NB on Friday evening from 7 to 9 p.m. Funeral service will be held on Saturday, September 17, 2011 at 11 a.m. with Rev. Charles Yerxa officiating, assisted by Rev. Dale Greer. Interment at Lower Meductic Cemetery. A reception will follow at the church fellowship hall. Please come rejoice in his reunion with loved ones. For those who wish to make a donation in memory of Ralph, the family has suggested the Meductic United Baptist Church, Shiktehawk Bible Camp or a charity of the donor’s choice.
