Passed away peacefully with her family and friends by her side on Friday, September 16th, 2011 at Pioneers Lodge in Moose Jaw. Betty, at the age of 78, predeceased by her beloved husband Edward (1995). Loving mother of Judy Ozog (Larry), Holly Delaurier, and Kelly Ainslie (Angus). She will be lovingly missed by her grandchildren, Amy McConnell (Pat), Cassandra Ozog, Kristopher Sauro, Allison Ainslie, Emily Ainslie, by her close friend Audrey Urjasz., and by her numerous nieces nephews and neighborhood friends. Betty was born in Melville, Saskatchewan to Steven and Anne Harasymuk on February 2nd, 1933. She grew up on the family farm near Ituna and received all of her education in Ituna. She married Edward Woytas in June of 1952, and the couple farmed in the Ituna area for the first few years of their marriage. They started their family in 1955, and moved to Moose Jaw in 1961. Betty spent her life focused on her home and family. She loved to garden and decorate her home. She was very artistic and creative and loved to paint and write, but it was clear that her family was her priority. Many weekends were spent getting together with her brother and sister in-law Mike and Pauline Kaczmar to play cards. After 50 years in the neighborhood, she was very community oriented and was a valued part of the 900 block of the Stadacona St. W. neighborhood. After Edward’s passing in 1995, she remained active and was very independent, continuing to look after her home and yard up until a brief illness in May of this year prevented her. She remained optimistic and maintained a strong faith remaining courageous until the end. Friends and family are invited to Parkview Funeral Chapel on Tuesday, September 20th, 2011 for a time of visitation from 2:00 -5:00 p.m. A Graveside Service will be held on Wednesday, September 21, 2011 at Rosedale Cemetery at 1:00 p.m. Anyone wishing to attend is asked to meet at Parkview Funeral Chapel at 12:45 p.m. to join in our procession to Rosedale Cemetery. A special thank-you is extended to Brenda and Donna from Pioneers Lodge for their compassionate care throughout our mother’s illness.
