Passed away peacefully on Thursday, October 8, 2009, in Richmond, Va., after a courageous battle with cancer.
Born in Summerside, P.E.I., she was the eldest daughter of the late René Wilfred Chaput and Marjorie Nora Keddy of New Glasgow.
Dorothy is remembered with devotion by her children, Frances Suzanne (Arthur) Langlais of South Windsor, Conn.; Graham of Halifax and Jordan (John) McIntyre of Charlottetown, P.E.I. She was the loving grandmother to Augustin Joseph McIntyre, Duncan Elias McIntyre and Malcolm George McIntyre, all of Charlottetown. She was a dear sister of Claire MacDonald of Arlington, Va.; Lucy Broman of Chatham, Mass.; Gregory of Chatham, Mass.; and Maurice of Denver, Col. Dorothy’s wit, elegance and zest for life will be profoundly missed by all those who knew her.
Funeral arrangements are entrusted to J.A. Snow Funeral Home, 2666 Windsor St., Halifax, where family will receive friends Sunday, October 18, between 2-3 and 7-8 p.m.
Funeral mass will take place in Saint Thomas Aquinas church at the corner of Oxford Street and Jubilee Road, Halifax, on Monday, October 19, at 10 a.m. Burial will take place in the family plot in St. Anslem’s Cemetery, West Chezzetcook, at 1 p.m. Monday.
