It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of our beloved father and grandfather is his 91st year. As Dad went through the stages of Alzheimer’s he still remained considerate, held his sense of humor, showed his appreciation for the care we were giving him and continued to be the gentleman and gracious person that we always knew. His nature was always loving and giving, patient and strong. Our time with him has embedded special memories. We are truly blessed to be his children and grandchildren.
Leaving to celebrate his life are his devoted children and grandchildren.
Brian (Connie Mills), Brenda (Marty Sheir), Joe (Connie Fewer), Allison (Doug Myler), Karen (John Gallivan), Mary Lou (Bill Chretien), Connie, Gerard, Geraldine (Gerard Fulford) and Brendan (Tracy Nugent).
John Paul, Paula Anne and David Gallivan, Leanne and Michael Murphy, Allison and Jamie Fulford, Matthew Myler, Sarah Murphy and William Murphy.
Dad’s dedicated friend and home care worker, Tom Melee and special family friend, Russ Bartlett. Dad had many friends at St. Patrick’s Parish whom he looked forward to greeting each and every time he attended Mass and other social functions as well as many other family and friends.
Dad was born on the east side of Barter’s Hill June 11, 1920. He took great pride in his chosen profession as a tinsmith working in St. John’s, throughout the island and many years in Labrador City. He was a lifetime parishioner of St. Patrick’s Parish and a 3rd degree member of the Knights of Columbus. He enjoyed his many years of volunteering his time with Holy Cross School, Knights of Columbus and St. Patrick’s Parish. As we continue on without him, we thank Dad for the love, care and guidance that we were given throughout our lives. We thank him for the love, respect and special care that he always gave to Mom. He was a family man in every sense of the word. Dad will always be loved and our memories of him will be cherished forever.
