Beverley Polchies
POLCHIES, BEVERLEY MARGARET - It is with deep sorrow we announce the sudden passing of Beverley Margaret Polchies (nee Paul) “Miss Bev”, “Rozie” on September 18, 2011. She was the daughter of Elizabeth Brewer and the late Eugene Francis Paul. She is survived by her mother Elizabeth Brewer; her loving husband of 43 years, Allen Polchies Sr.; son Allen Polchies Jr. (Tyler); daughters, Jennifer (Ed) Polchies and Judith (Mike) Fullarton; grandchildren, Dillon, Alysia, Miranda, Megan and Hilary; great grandson Cohl and her faithful canine companion “Oscar”. She is also survived by brothers Eric (Irene), Timothy (Shari), Rocky and William (Katie) all of Fredericton; sisters Victoria (John) of Pennsylvania and Janice (Bill) of Sussex; a sister-in-law Betty (Myles) McCoy; brothers-in-law Sonny (Mary) Polchies, Glen (Cathy) Polchies and Claude Polchies; several nieces, nephews, cousins and special God-Children, Nicholas, Frank, Abigail, Faith Anne and Conrad as well as a host of friends. She was predeceased by her son Clinton; a brother Phillip, a sister Eunice; her father Eugene Paul and her step-father Donald Brewer. Bev was a teacher, Red Cross Homemaker and loved camping, scrapbooking, facebooking, sewing, knitting, baking, playing darts and was an avid “weather watcher”. At the age of 31, she went back to High School at F.H.S. and was awarded a Black “F” for highest honors. In 1990 she graduated from Nova Scotia Teachers College with an Early Childhood Education Degree. She also received the “Carmen Moir Award” for achievement and dedication. From there she went to work for St. Mary’s First Nation and started the first Headstart program for 3 year olds. Up until her recent passing, Beverley was very dedicated to her job and loved all the little ones she taught.
Resting at Bishop’s Funeral Home, 540 Woodstock Road, Fredericton on Tuesday, September 20, 2011 from 2 to 4 P.M. and 7 to 9 P.M. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held Wednesday, September 21 at 11:00 A.M. from St. Anthony’s Roman Catholic Church with Rev. Monte Peters as celebrant. Cremation to follow with interment at a later date. Pallbearers will be Mike Fullarton, Ed Morehouse, Nicholas Paul, Fred Melanson, Nick Lauzon and Frank Paul.
