WOOF, Maureen Faye - 61, of White Rock Road, Kings County, passed away Tuesday, September 13, 2011 in the QEII Health Sciences Centre, Halifax. Born in Halifax, she was a daughter of the late John and Faye (Simpson) Gibb. She had been employed with the former Maritime Tel & Tel, from where she retired. She loved music and was a former member of the Queens of Kings. She enjoyed writing and reading and was recently published in an anthology of poetry. Maureen was a proud grammy and loved spending time with her grandchildren. She is survived by her husband, Ross Arthur Woof; two daughters, Julie (Stephen) Hatfield, Guelph, Ontario; Jaime (Kim) Parks, Canaan; a son, Jeremy (Christina), Fergus, Ontario; a brother, Robert Gibb, Athabasca, Alberta; five grandchildren, Abigail, Caitlin, Landon, Ethan and Taylor. She was predeceased by a brother, John Gibb. Cremation has taken place. There was no visitation, by request. The funeral service, followed by a reception, was held at 10:00 a.m. Sunday, September 18, 2011 in the White Family Funeral Home, Kentville, Reverend James Haughn officiating. Donations in memory may be made to the Canadian Cancer Society, the Heart and Stroke Foundation of Nova Scotia or the Canadian Diabetes Association.
