Mary 'Marg' Holloway

It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Marg at the Glace Bay Hospital on Sunday, Sept. 18, 2011, after a brief but courageous battle with cancer.
She was the daughter of the late Mary Curtis and Thomas Bennett.
Both Marg and her husband loved dancing and shared many happy years. She was an avid dart player and a member of the Caledonia Club for 31 years. She loved bingo, cards and spending time with her family. In recent years she took great pleasure in her great-grandchildren.
The family would like to offer special thanks to Marg’s best friends, Mary MacLellan and Carmella Morrison for always being there. To Wayne, Clarence and Greta for helping in her time of need.
She is survived by her children, Brenda (Dougie), Kevin (Darlene) Tommy (Donna) and Blaine; brother, Tommy Bennett; grandchildren, Darren, Kirk, Cindy, Melvin and Lloyd; five great-grandchildren.
She was predeceased by her husband, Melvin and sister, Shirley Bennett.
Visitation will be on Wednesday, Sept. 21, from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. at Curry’s Funeral Home, 775 Main St., Glace Bay. A funeral mass celebrating Marg’s life will be on Thursday, Sept. 22 at 11 a.m. in Holy Cross Church with Rev. Norm MacPhee officiating. Interment will be in the parish cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Cancer Centre at the Cape Breton Regional Hospital.
