It is with heartfelt sadness we announce the passing of Cavelle Quirk, 57, beloved wife, mother, grandmother and sister, on Monday, Sept. 19, 2011, at the Cape Breton Regional Hospital in Sydney, surrounded by her loving family.
Born in Port Aux Basques, N.L., Cavelle was the daughter of the late George and Jane Osmond.
Cavelle was employed for many years as General Manager of Forrest Convenience Stores in North Sydney. She was a member of St. John the Baptist Anglican Church, North Sydney, and also a member of the Bras d’Or Army Navy Dart League.
She is survived by her husband, Doug; her son, Shannon Quirk, Halifax; daughter, Donna Lee (Ross) Quirk Mauger, North Sydney; and her cherished grandchildren, Brittany, Makayla, Rebecca-Lynn and Shannon; her five sisters, Maisie, Sadie, Lorraine, Rita and Marilyn; and two brothers, Elias and Albert; sisters and brothers-in-law and many nieces and nephews.
Besides her parents she was predeceased by her sister Myrtle.
Visitation for Cavelle will be held from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. Thursday in the W.J. Dooley Funeral Home, 107 Pleasant St., North Sydney. A funeral service will be held at 3 p.m. Friday, at St. John the Baptist Anglican Church with Rev. Gloria McClure-Fraser officiating. Burial will take place in Lakeside Cemetery, North Sydney.
