LITTLE, JOAN ANNETTE - The passing of Joan A. Little of York Mills, NB, wife of Leslie W. Little, occurred on September 20, 2011 at the Dr. Everett Chalmers Hospital surrounded by her loving family. Born at Harvey, NB in 1938, she was a daughter of Mabel (Little) Embleton and the late Lester (Ted) Embleton. Joan loved country music and often played the piano with performers at the York Mills Hall. She is survived by her husband of 54 years, her daughters, Kim Johnson (John), Brockway, NB and Connie Hickey (Blaine), Magaguadavic, NB; her grandchildren, Teresa Johnson (Ken Voutt), Dewolfe, NB, Gail Beach (Dwaine), Dufferin, NB and Kyle Hickey, Magaguadavic, NB; her great grandchildren, Samuel and Graeme Voutt and Livia Beach; her mother of York Mills, NB; her siblings, Pete Embleton (Marilyn), Fredericton, NB, Terry Embleton (Marie), Magaguadavic, NB and Lori Brewer (Larry), York Mills, NB; a sister-in-law, Dene Embleton, Oromocto Lake, NB; a brother-in-law, Karl Little (Shirley), Oakville, ON and several nieces, nephews and cousins. In addition to her father, Joan was predeceased by two sons, Randy and infant Paul and a brother, John Embleton.
Visitation will take place at Swan Funeral Home 1826 Highway 3, Harvey Station, NB on Thursday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Funeral service will be held at St. Andrew’s United Church, Harvey Station, NB on Friday, September 23, 2011 at 3 p.m. with Rev. Kay Clowater officiating. Interment will follow in Harvey Settlement Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Blaine Hickey, John Johnson, Ken Voutt, Dwaine Beach and her brothers, Terry and Pete Embleton.
