The death of Katherine (Simms) Russell, formerly of Stellarton and New Glasgow, occurred Friday, Sept. 23 at Queensway Carleton Hospital in Ottawa.
She was born in Gaultois, NL, the daughter of John Simms and Lillie Garland. She was a registered nurse in Montreal and Newfoundland, finishing her career at Riverview Adult Residential Centre, Riverton, NS.
She was predeceased by her husband, Rev. Calvin Russell in 2000. She was predeceased by a brother, George Simms, and a sister, Madge Samson, both of Gander, NL.
She is survived by two sons, Richard (Rosalie) of Stellarton, NS, and Paul (Carol), Ottawa. Also six grandchildren: Kaitlin, Ottawa; Cameron, Steven and Matt, Stellarton, and Cory and Katherine, Ottawa.
Cremation has taken place at her request and funeral arrangements are pending.
