STEEVES, ROBERT "BOB" ARNOLD - Robert "Bob" Arnold Steeves, 86, of Petitcodiac, and formerly of Havelock, passed away at home on September 23, 2011. Born at Mapleton Road, Moncton, he was a son of the late James W. and Hattie (nee Weldon) Steeves. Bob worked for Canada Post for 33 years, from 1956-1989. He was a member of the Petitcodiac Baptist Church, he was a charter member of Petitcodiac's St. John Ambulance Brigade for which he was recognized by the Governor General as a serving brother; he was also a member of the Kiwanis Club of Petitcodiac, the Petitcodiac Minor Hockey Association and the Petitcodiac Fire Department. Bob enjoyed woodworking, gardening, and travelling. He is survived by his wife of 64 years, Mary Steeves (nee Moore); his daughter, Brenda McLaughlin (Bill) of Fredericton; his sons: Wayne Steeves of Sussex, Jim Steeves (Carolyn) of Charlottetown and Bruce Steeves of Halifax; his sister, Margaret Matson of Moncton; his brother Dale Steeves (Gladys) of Fredericton; his brother-in-law, Robert "Bobby" Moore of Lower Coverdale; his grandchildren: David, Heather, MacKenzie, Matthew, Andrew, Mary Beth, Julie Ann, and Rhiannon; as well as by several nieces, nephews, and cousins. Besides his parents, Bob was predeceased by his sister, Emma MacLeod; and by his brothers, David Steeves and Douglas Steeves.
Visitation will be held on Sunday, September 25, 2011 from 2 to 4 & 7 to 9 pm at Armstrong's Funeral Home, Petitcodiac; the funeral service will be held on Monday, September 26, 2011 at 2:00 pm in the Petitcodiac Baptist Church with Pastor David Woodworth presiding. Interment will be held in the Maplewood Cemetery. Donations to the Petitcodiac Fire Department or a charity of your personal choice would be appreciated by the family.
