SMITH, KIRKE PATRICK - It is with great sadness that the family announces the death of Kirke Patrick Smith of Halifax, NS formerly of Beaver Dam, NB on September 22nd, 2011. Born on April 25th, 1975 in Fredericton, NB he was the son of Heather Smith and the husband of Joanne Maillet. Kirke was a member of the Royal Canadian Navy and was proud to serve his country. He had strong family ties, loving to spend time with all of his extended family. He also had a love of animals and practiced Judo. He is survived by his wife, Joanne; his mother, Heather; sons, Isaiah and Noah; step-daughter, Arriana; parents-in-law, Heather and Peter Maillet; maternal grandmother, Bertha Smith; aunts, Glenna (Michael) Hetherington and Theda Smith; uncle, Stewart (Helena) Smith; as well as several cousins. Kirke was predeceased by his maternal grandfather, Allan Smith and his aunt, Elene Mott.
Visitation will be held at McAdam's Funeral Home, 160 York Street, Fredericton, NB on Monday, September 26th, 2011 from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 pm. The funeral service will take place at the Nasonworth Baptist Church on Tuesday, September 27th, 2011 at 2:00 pm. Rev. David Grey will officiate. Interment will take place at a later date in the Smith Morgan Cemetery. For those who wish, memorial tributes in Kirke's name may be made to the Nasonworth Baptist Church Building Fund or to a charity of the donor's choice.
