WELLS, Hedley Benjamin, (1924 – 2009)– Passed peacefully away and entered the gates of Heaven on October 13. He leaves a legacy of fond and cherished memories to daughters Gertie (James Pardy), Brenda (Barry Legge), sons, John (Joyce), and Marvin (Donna) and very special companion, Florence Lush. His grandchildren, Duane (Michelle), Rhonda (Edmund), Dana (Kevin), Janna, Kristen (Terri-Lynn), Stephanie (Jason), Andre, Philip (Jessica), Melanie, Brittany and Johnny will remember his love and devotion to them. Great-grandfather to Melodie, Justin, Keenan, Rhiannan, Aaron, Caleb, Ameilia, Jessie and Ben. He will be fondly remembered by sisters-in-law Ruby and Lydia Wells, Elizabeth Langdon, Shirley (Lou Lutz), brothers-in-law Bill Willis (Rosalind), Reuben Willis (Eliza), Harry Willis (Marjorie). Predeceased by father and mother, Reginald and Lizzie Wells; wife, Katie; son, Gordon; brothers, Harry-Jim and Howard; sisters, Gertie and Lucy. He will be truly missed as a good friend by the many residents at Oram’s Emmanuel Manor in Gambo, as well as many other relatives and friends. Resting at Oram’s Funeral Home, Dover. Visitation will be held October 14, 7 – 9 pm, October 15, 2 – 4pm, and 7 -9pm. Funeral service to take place at The Salvation Army Citadel, Hare Bay on Friday, October 16 at 2 pm. Officiating officers Major Lillian and Captain Austin Randell, assisted by Majors Darryl and Cathy Simms. Interment to follow at the cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations in his memory can be made to the Heart and Stroke Foundation, The Salvation Army Corps, Hare Bay, or a charity of donor’s choice.
