HUNT, Ross A. – 84, Bible Hill, passed away peacefully, following a brief illness, on Saturday evening, September 24, 2011, at Colchester Regional Hospital, Truro, surrounded by his loving wife and family. Born August 24, 1927, in Camden, Colchester County, he was a son of the late Harold F. and Janie (Rath) Hunt. Ross was our beloved husband, father, grandfather and great-grandfather and it is with deep sadness that we honour his memory and legacy. He enjoyed a good joke and was a master at story telling; he kept everyone amused and delighted with his memories and experiences during his life. He loved nothing more than to listen to his old time music favorites and was often seen tapping a toe or dancing a jig. Ross will always be remembered for being kind-hearted, generous and a wonderful friend. A former employee of Domtar at Bible Hill, he also worked for many years until his retirement as a skilled carpenter. Ross was the last surviving member of his family and is survived by his best friend and wife of 53 years, Marguerite (Ross); daughters, Patricia (Robert) Higgins, Joanne Scott (Tony); sons, Stanley, David (Joanne), Richard (Sandra); grandchildren, Lisa, Christena, Shannon, Andria, Douglas, Alan, Monica, Amanda, Jessica; great grandchildren, Kirby, Hope, Alyssa, Ainsley; brother-in-law, Ryland Marshall; several nieces and nephews. Along with his parents, he was predeceased by his sisters, Hazel (Roy) Weatherby, Tressa (Blair) Hennigar, Doris Marshall, Gloria Hunt; brothers, William (Marjorie) Hunt, Hollis Hunt; son-in-law, Eric Scott. Arrangements have been entrusted to Mattatall ~ Varner Funeral Home, 55 Young Street, Truro, where a celebration of Ross’ life will be held 2 p.m., Thursday, September 29, 2011, Reverend Larry Harrison officiating. Reception will follow. Private family interment in Watson Cemetery, Truro. Family flowers only. If so desired, donations in Ross’ memory may be made to a charity of choice. Private messages of condolence may be sent to the family by visiting the “Guest Book” at: www.mattatallvarnerfh.com
