OSBORNE - James (Jim) Dean passed away Friday, September 25, 2009 at the Regional Palliser Care Centre, Swift Current, SK. at the age of 84 years. Jim was born to Charles and Alma (Neil) Osborne September 6, 1925 in North Vancouver, BC. He married Audrey Caine on March 22, 1950. After her passing, in 1992, he married Helena Wolfe Wall on September 1, 2001. He leaves to mourn his passing his
wife Helena; children: Susan (Garnet) Margetish, Penny Wilson and Timothy (Debbie) Osborne; grandchildren Clinton, Lisa; and step-grandchildren: Darcy, and Chantal; step-children Wyatt (Dianne) Pockett, Francis (Carrie) Pockett and Judith Pockett; step-grandchildren Robert, Darwin, April, Bradley, Kyle, Marty and great granddaughter Skylar; two sisters: Grace and Edna Osborne; three brothers-in-law and nine sisters-in-law. Jim was predeceased by his parents Charles (1957) and Alma (1972); siblings: John (Ester), Olive (Harold) Ferguson, David (Lillian)and (Wendy)Osborne, Colin (Iris) Osborne, Edward (Ethel)Osborne, Ruth (Bill) McMillian, Margaret (Buster) Melross, Millcent Osborne, grandchild Gordon Margetish and a son-in-law Gordon Wilson. Jim left school at the end of grade seven, age 15. He went to work with his brother-in-law Bill McMillan cutting shakes and delivering groceries for Granges Groceries. He then went to West Coast Shipyards as a joiner helper (shipbuilder). Back on land again he then worked for Norman Hulla construction before going to work for his brother Dave doing construction work. In 1956 Jim moved out to Vancouver Island. There he worked construction for Pollock Construction, Fowler Construction, Luney Bros. & Hamilton Construction and then back to Fowler Construction. He also drove cab for a while and worked for Brown's Septic Services before finishing his career with Neilson's RVs. He retired in 1990. A memorial service was held on Wednesday, September 30, 2009 at 2:00 PM from the Trailview Alliance Church, Swift Current, SK with Pastor Mike Smart officiating. An interment service followed at the Pennant Cemetery, Pennant SK. Memorial donations may be made to The Gideon Bible International or a charity of the donors choice.
