It is with great sadness that the family of the late George N. (Tommy) Cater, P. Eng announce his passing at the CNRHC, in Grand Falls-Windsor on Sept. 23, 2011, at the age of 86. Tommy was a member of the Royal Canadian Legion Branch 12, Grand Falls Rotary Club, Lifetime member of Professional Engineers and Geoscientists of NL. He retired from Abitibi-Price in 1988. Tommy is predeceased by his father, George B.; mother, Katie; and brother, John. Left with fond and loving memories are his wife, Frances (nee Green); sons, Neil (Sheila) of Portugal Cove, NL; Robert (Elizabeth) of Grand Falls-Windsor, NL; precious granddaughters, Nicole and Stephanie; sisters, Phyllis Little (Norman-deceased) of St. Catherines, ON, Clara George (David) of Toronto, ON; brothers, Lloyd (Margaret) of St. Catherines, ON, Max (Mavis) of Fredericton, NB. Also leaving to mourn are a large circle of family and friends. Rev. Randy Lockyer conducted the funeral service at the Holy Trinity Anglican Church on Sept. 27, 2011 at 2:00 p.m. Interment was at the Interfaith Cemetery, Union Street. Funeral arrangements were entrusted to Mike Goodyear of Central Funeral Homes. In lieu of flowers donations can be made to the Lung Association.
