1943-2011
It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Ray Shea, on September 24, 2011 at the age of 68 after a brief battle with cancer.
Born in Tatamagouche, NS, on April 11, 1943, he joined the air force at the age of 18. Throughout his military career, he was posted at many locations across the country. He retired from the military, Mt Lolo station, in 1983 as a sergeant, and began a career in real estate, which he thoroughly enjoyed until suffering a stroke in 1993.
Ray had an amazing sense of humor and always had a story to tell. He loved camping, fishing, gardening, reading, and his family.
Ray will be lovingly remembered by Donna, his wife of 43 years, son Jeff (Lia) of Dawson Creek, daughter Heather of Vancouver, grandchildren Chloe and Adam, and sisters Elaine (John) Grover of Truro, NS, and Myrna Mawson of Sackville, NS, and numerous nieces and nephews.
The family wishes to express the deepest gratitude to the staff of Marjorie Willoughby Snowden Hospice House, who took the greatest care of Ray and made his final weeks more comfortable.
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Marjorie Willoughby Snowden Hospice House, or the BC Cancer Society.
A Celebration of Ray's life will be held at the Kamloops Funeral Home Chapel, 285 Fortune Dr, at 2:00 p.m., Thursday, September 29.
