Lawrence Daniel, “Laurie” Baillie, 54, of Arborstone Enhanced Care, Halifax, and formerly of Lyons Brook, Pictou County, passed away October 15, 2009, in the Halifax Infirmary, QEII, Health Sciences Centre.
Born in Kirkland Lake, Ontario, he was a son of the late William and Frances (Lawrence) Baillie.
A real ‘character’, Laurie loved the outdoors, especially fishing.
He was an employee of the Dept. of Highways before stopping work because of his health.
Most of all he loved his kids, and grandkids.
Surviving are his sons, Jason and Jeffrey; granddaughters, Aalyah Marie and Sophia Grace; brothers, James (Janet), John, Graham (Sherry), Brian (Diane); sisters, Ann (Leonard) Patriquin, Frances “Kitsy” (Bobby) Richardson, Janet Baillie (Donnie), Corleen (Pierre) Baillie-LaPointe.
Besides his parents, he was predeceased by a brother, Malcolm William, and a sister, Daneshia Marie.
Cremation has taken place.
There will be no visitation at his request. Graveside service will take place 1 p.m. Thursday in West Branch Cemetery.
The family would like to extend sincere thanks to the Arborstone Enhanced Care, and everyone in the Emergency Department of the Halifax Infirmary.
In lieu of flowers, donations in his memory may be made to Arborstone Enhanced Care, Halifax.
Arrangements are under the direction of McLaren Funeral Service, Pictou.
