Earl Boyd MacDonald
TRURO - MacDonald, Earl Boyd, 72, Truro, passed away peacefully on Oct. 16, 2009, at home, surrounded by his loving family.
Earl was born in 1937 in Tatamagouche.
He was a member of the North River Fire Brigade since the brigade was formed and acted as chief for many of those years.
He worked for the Department of Transportation until his retirement in 1996 and enjoyed operating an excavator for the past nine years.
Earl is fondly remembered for his loving smile and sense of humour.
He was a wonderful man and will be greatly missed.
Earl is survived by his loving wife of 53 years, Joan MacDonald, Truro; beloved mother, Berthena MacDonald, Truro; treasured daughters, Marilyn (Stewart) Terry, North River, Karen Dawe, Bible Hill; sons, Kevin (Cindy) MacDonald, Old Barns, James MacDonald, Truro; grandchildren, Jennifer (Jason Randall) Armitage, North River, April (Chris) Teed, North River, Kevin (Angela) Dawe, Truro, Tom (Ruthie) Dawe, Bedford; step-grandchildren, Tara (Gary) Ellis, Shortts Lake, Travis (Amy) Hamilton, North River and 6 loving great-grandchildren.
Earl was predeceased by his father, Frank MacDonald.

Cremation has taken place under the direction of Colchester Community Funeral Home, 512 Willow St., Truro.
A service to celebrate Earl's life will be held at a later date.
Donations may be made to the Palliative Care Unit at Colchester Regional Hospital, Truro.
