SPRINGHILL, NS It is with great sadness the family of Laura McLean, age 95, of Springhill announce her passing on Saturday, October 17, 2009 at the All Saints Hospital.



Born in Springhill, she was a daughter of the late Edward and Maude (Crowe) Ridgeway

Having a great love of family, church and community, she served as a member of the Advisory Board for Nova Scotia Youth Training Center, was a member of All Saints Anglican Church, and served in many positions including the Secretary of the Memorial Fund, the Ladies Guild, Parish Council and Church Choir. She organized and maintained the Perpetual Care Funds for the Hillside Cemetery for many years.

Laura will be sadly missed by her daughter Mary Rose Wile, Dartmouth; 6 grandchildren, Jamie (Genevieve) Wile, Lydia (Gill) Hatton, Thomas (Debbie) and John McLean, Lorilee (Gerald Mills) McLean and Nancy (Danny) Berry; 11 great grandchildren, Cory, Lucas, Justine, Lindsey, Nicholas, Brandon, Samuel, Sydney, Emma, Kaitlyn and Erica. She was predeceased by her husband, Thomas, son Edward, granddaughter Jane Elizabeth, daughter-in-law, Norma McLean and son-in-law, Paige Wile.

Laura's remains have been entrusted into the care of the A H Brown Funeral Service, Springhill (902-597-2361) from where visitation will be held Monday from 7 to 9 pm. A funeral service will be held at the All Saints Anglican Church, Springhill on Tuesday, October 20, 2009 at 11 am. Burial in the Hillside Cemetery.
