It is with heartfelt sadness that we announce the passing of Allan Rose, a resident of Center Street, North Sydney, on Friday September 30, 2011, at the Northside General Hospital, North Sydney.
Born in North Sydney, he was a son of the late Henry and Jane (Riggs) Rose.
Allan was a dedicated employee of North Sydney Marine Railway for forty-five years and a member of St. John the Baptist Anglican Church. Allan was the last surviving member of his immediate family.
He is survived by his son David (Noelle) Rose, North Sydney; daughters Jane MacDonald, Sydney Mines, Debbie Brown, Florence, also surviving are his six grandchildren; six great grandchildren and one great-great grandchild.
Allan was predeceased by his wife Georgina (Steele) Rose; his sister Olive Smith; two brothers Russell and Wallace Rose; sons-in-law Bruce MacDonald and Jim Brown.
No visitation by request. A funeral service will be held 11 a.m. Monday in the W.J. Dooley Funeral Home, 107 Pleasant St., North Sydney with Rev. Carl Fraser officiating. Burial to follow at Lakeside Cemetery, North Sydney.
