O’Brien, Eleanor Evans Fraser- New Glasgow
We lost our beloved and beautiful mother early in the morning of September 29th. Mum who was 89, died after a fairly brief illness in the Aberdeen hospital in New Glasgow, Nova Scotia. We were incredibly fortunate to have enjoyed a lengthy visit with her just two hours before she left us.
We will miss her gentle nature; her great sense of fun; her wisdom and sharp intelligence and her grand ability to connect with other people. Everywhere she lived and travelled she made and kept good friends. Her warmth was legendary.
Her husband and best friend, George Allan O’Brien died in 2003. Mum is survived by her children Mary Ruth O’Brien of New Glasgow and Michael George O’Brien of Toronto. She also leaves her sisters-in-law, and cousins, Mary Tait O’Brien Fraser and Carolyn Tait O’Brien MacIntosh, both of New Glasgow. She will be missed by a very large group of nephews, nieces and cousins. She had a special bond with each and every one of them.
We will celebrate her life at 4 pm on Wednesday October 5th, at Merigomish United Church, Merigomish, Nova Scotia and afterwards at Mum’s home Heathridge on Quarry Island.
Arrangements are under the direction of the H.W. Angus Funeral Home, New Glasgow.
