SCOTT, LEEMAN FRANK - It is with heavy hearts that the family of Leeman Frank Scott, Treasurer of the Anglican Diocese of Fredericton and Canon of Christ Church Cathedral, announce his sudden passing on September 30, 2011 at the Dr. Everett Chalmers Hospital in Fredericton, NB at the age of 60. Known to friends and family as Fred, he was born in West Green Harbour, NS on May 1, 1951. He is the son of the late Leaman Warren Scott and the late Mary Evangeline (Burke) Scott. Fred is also predeceased by his father-in-law George Thomas Arthur. Fred is survived by his loving wife of 36 years Nancy (nee Arthur), his two sons Mark (Wendy) and Matthew (Tracey). He is the proud and loving "Grampie" of Rose and Laura. Fred is also survived by his siblings Marie (Wayne) Robbins, Heather (Rod Molloy) Scott, Stephanie (Greg) Boudreau, Allan (Annette) Scott, and Douglas (Gwen) Scott. His mother-in-law Elizabeth Arthur, brother-in-law Bill (Sandra) Arthur, nieces and nephews Michelle Mills, Jason (Tammy) Arthur, Jennifer (Devin) Brown, Diane (Graham) Cameron and their children. Fred was a dedicated and active member of the Anglican Church since 1984. Fred was the Diocesan Treasurer and ex officio member of all Diocesan Committees. He was also the Treasurer for Farraline Place and a member of the National Pension Board for the Anglican Church of Canada. Fred was a wonderful and loving husband, father, grandfather, brother, uncle and friend. Fred always had a smile on his face and his love of laughter was contagious. Fred enjoyed the game of golf and was an enthusiastic sports fan. Fred loved his cottage on Grand Lake, spending many weekends and vacations there with his family. Fred also loved his trips with Nancy to Cape Breton to visit Matt and Tracey. The family wish to express their sincere gratitude to all the doctors, nurses and staff of the ICU for their care and compassion.
Visitation will held at McAdam's Funeral Home, 160 York Street, Fredericton on October 4, 2011 from 2 to 4 pm and 7 to 9 pm. A memorial service will be held at Christ Church Cathedral on October 5, 2011 at 2:00 pm. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Heart and Stroke Foundation or the Anglican Church Camp Medley. Online condolences may be made at www.mcadamsfh.com.
