Peacefully at Western Hospital, Alberton on Friday Sept. 30, 2011, of Marvin John Cornish, Maplewood Manor, formerly of Mill Road, age 71, husband of the late Dorothy Cornish. Born in Woodstock on Nov. 13, 1939, he was the son of Earl and Margaret (Morrell) Cornish. Dear father to Brenda (Ross) Carter, Toronto, Ont.; Kevin, Mill Road; Karen (Larry) Hamlyn, Delburne, Alberta; Ivan (Linda Yeomans), North Bay, Ont. and Dianne Cornish, New Hamburg, Ont. Loving Papa to Gordon, Stephen, Matthew, Christopher, Brianne, Geoffrey, Brandon, Keith, Jason and Kayla. Great-grandfather to Landon and Karlie. Marvin is also survived by sisters and brothers, Alice Timmins, Freetown; Mary (Wendell) Matchett, Dundalk, Ont., and Ralph Cornish (Velda Arsenault), Tignish. Also survived by sisters and brothers in law Ursula Cornish, O’Leary; Margaret Cornish, Summerside; Don MacIntyre, Toronto, Ont.; Don (Gloria) Campbell, Scarborough, Ont.; Barry Campbell (Janice Haskim), Parry Sound, Ont. and Sheila (Serge) Joncas, Scarborough, Ont. Predeceased by his parents, wife Dorothy, brothers Wendell and Claude, sisters Elsie, Jennie and Lula and brothers in law Guy Ellis, George Murray and Al Timmins. Resting at the Ferguson Funeral Home and Chapel, O’Leary with visiting hours Tuesday 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. Funeral on Wednesday in the Ferguson Funeral Home Chapel, O'Leary at 1 p.m. Interment to follow in the Bloomfield United Church Cemetery. In memory of Marvin, donations to the Bloomfield United Church Cemetery or Victoria West United Church would be appreciated.
