RIVERTON – Mary Elizabeth Hawley, 88, Valley View Villa, Riverton, formerly of New Glasgow, passed away Sunday, October 18, 2009, in the Aberdeen Hospital, New Glasgow.
Born in Inverness County, she was the daughter of the late Murdoch B. and Mary B. (Watson) Cameron.
She was a member of Trinity United Church, New Glasgow. Mary loved to sew, read and flower garden in earlier years. She loved life. Mary was a loving mother, grandmother, great-grandmother and sister.
She will be dearly missed by her daughters: Christene “Tena†Dzienis, Ont.; Patricia “Patsy†Hawley, Stellarton; June (Neil) Mason, Ont.; Mary Hawley, Westville; sons, Cameron (Paula), Churchville; Richard (Inez), Linacy; Roy, New Glasgow; sisters, Shirley (Jerome) Moser, Ont.; Annie Wilfong, Florida; brothers, Joseph, Linacy; Robert (Sheila), Ont.; 13 grandchildren; 20 great-grandchildren; several nieces and nephews.
She was predeceased by her husband, Daniel Christy Hawley; brothers: Jimmy, Stanley, Jack, Sonny and Billy Bryce in infancy, a granddaughter; two grandsons; a great-granddaughter.
The family will receive visitors 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. Wednesday in P. & K. MacDonald Funeral Home, New Glasgow, from where funeral service will be held 2 p.m. Thursday in the Chapel with Rev. Dr. Glen Matheson officiating. Interment will be in Abercrombie Cemetery.
