It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Robert Clarence MacNeil on Oct. 1, 2011, at The New Waterford Consolidated Hospital.
Born in Gardner Mines, Bob was the son of the late George and Katherine (Meyers) MacNeil.
Bob will be remembered as a generous person who had a passion for helping others, loved working on cars and was an animal lover.
Bob is survived by his beloved wife, Cathy of 32 years; brothers, Howard, Tim, Bill, Luther and Dana; sisters, Caroline, Margaret and Linda; also many nieces and nephews.
Besides his parents he was predeceased by Shelley, Charlie, John, Sherman, David and Edie, Edna and Hilda.
By Bob’s request there will be no visitation. Cremation has taken place under the direction of McLellan Brothers Funeral Home, 3183 Plummer Ave., New Waterford, 862-7500. Graveside service for the family and friends will be held in Union Grove Cemetery, Wednesday, Oct. 5, 2011, at 5 p.m. with Rev. Duncan Roach officiating.
Donations in Bob’s memory can be made to the Heart and Stroke Foundation or the Canadian Cancer Society.
