It is with great sadness that the family of the late Matilda Pearl Park (last surviving child of Wm. & Mary Park of Brakes Cove, NL) announce her passing at WMRH on Monday, October 19, 2009 at the age of 88 years. She leaves to mourn with fond and loving memories her husband, Irvine of 69 years; daughter, Grace (Reg Reader); sons, William (Millicent), Irvine (Yvonne), Clarence (Judy) all of Cox’s Cove, Elvis (Mary) of Corner Brook and grandson whom she raised, Baxter (Nancy) of Halifax, NS. She also leaves to mourn 14 grandchildren, Dennis (Doris), Cavelle (Edmund), Corinna (Ed), Owen (Marilee), Gilles (Ethel), Barry, Blaine (Patti-lou), Renee (Paul), Lana (Dion), Landon (Sharon), Lorne (Deidre), Laura (Rick), Jodean (Jay) and Samantha; 15 great grandchildren, Dion (Patricia), Danny, Jessica, Pamela, Jamie, Mitch, Jordan, Simon, Jaden, Noah, Lucas, John, James, Rayen, and Presley; 1 great-great grandchild, Brandon; 2 step grandchildren, Scott Stuckless and Nicole Grouchy; Special family member, Kathleen Park; Sisters-in-law, Pearl Park, Bessie Park, Polly (Bert Payne) of Cox’s Cove and Ivy Park of Mt. Moriah as well as a large circle of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. She was predeceased by her parents, Wm. and Mary Park; Twin sons, Samuel L and Harold; Sisters, Selina Robinson, Ellen Jane Park, Lillian Payne, Susannah White and Prescilla Noseworthy; Brothers, Samuel and Alex Park; Parents-in-law, Simon & Amy Park; Sisters-in-law, Olive, Alfreda and Mae Park; Brothers-in-law, George Robinson, Stephen Payne, Howard White, Clayton Noseworthy and John, Howard and Stanley Park. Visitation will take place at St. Nicholas Anglican Church Cox’s Cove on Tuesday and Wednesday, from where the funeral service will be held on Thursday, October 22, 2009 at 2p.m. with Rev. Joan Coles officiating. Interment to follow at St. Nicholas Anglican Cemetery. Funeral arrangements have been entrusted to Country Haven Funeral Home, 167 Country Road. As expressions of sympathy flowers are graciously accepted or memorial donations may be made to St. Nicholas Anglican Church Memorial Fund.
