THORBURN, George “Clayton” 84, East Jordan, Shelburne Co., passed away peacefully on Sunday, September 25, 2011 in Roseway Manor, Sandy Point. Born in Harrington Harbour, Quebec, he was the son of the late Harold and Theresa (Jones) Thorburn. Clayton loved to go camping and for many years he and Marie spent their summers camping around the Maritimes. Besides his parents, he was predeceased by his son Doug, “Fargo”, and his daughter Patricia (in infancy). He is survived by his wife of 59 years, Marie (Nickerson); his sons Robert and Ken, Alberta; Don and George, East Jordan; Mike (LeAnn), Minnesota; his daughters Jeanette, Alberta; Annette (Jeff) Smith, Kingston; Yvette, Halifax; fifteen grandchildren and five great-grandchildren. Funeral service was held Thursday, September 29 in H.M. Huskilson’s Funeral Chapel with Pastor Tim Garren officiating. Interment was in Locust Hill Cemetery. Memorial donations may be made to Locust Hill Cemetery, Jordan Falls, or charity of choice.
