PETERSON, VINCENT “VINCE” B. - It is with great sadness that we announce the unexpected passing of Vincent “Vince” Benedict Peterson at the Dr. Everett Chalmers Regional Hospital on Sunday, October 2, 2011, surrounded by his adoring family. He was 83. Born in Marysville, N.B., he was the son of the late Clarence A. and Nora J. (Higgins) Peterson and was the last surviving member of his immediate family. Vince was a Salesman all his working career. He was a Founding Member and an active and faithful member of Capital Community Church, Fredericton. Vince loved his family dearly and especially cherished the time he spent with his precious grandchildren and great grandchildren. Vince is survived by his loving and devoted wife of 59 years, Luella “Lue” J. (Devitt) Peterson; three children, Deborah (Allen) Lawson and their children Jenna Lue Lawson and Michael (Shyla) Lawson (and their son Jayson) all of Saint John, N.B.; Ronah (Fred) MacLaren of Petitcodiac, N.B. and their children Nicole (Dale) O’Donnell (and their son Kent) of Fredericton, N.B., Paige (Brad) Boudreau (and their children Avery and Chloe) of Ripples, N.B. and Frederick (Tammy) MacLaren (and their children Davis and Preston) of Moncton, N.B.; Timothy Vincent (Charlene) Peterson of Douglas Harbour, N.B. and their children JoAnne (Kevin) Dubblestein (and their children Mya and Maci) of Kingston, Ontario, Joel Peterson of Fredericton, N.B. and Josh Peterson of Ripples, N.B.; also survived by Tim’s chosen brother Timothy Francis Paul of St. Mary’s First Nation; numerous nieces, nephews and cousins. Vince is also survived by sisters-in-law Barbara Devitt, Marlene (Peter) Meika, Jo Coulson and Marion Coulson; brothers-in-law Robert Devitt and Hugh Coulson. Vince was predeceased by his parents and siblings Byard, Nellie Abernethy, Hughie, Donald, Andrew, Jerome, Gracie Hicks, Howard and Emmerson.
The family will receive condolences at Capital Community Church, 71 Downing St., Fredericton on Tuesday, October 4, 2011 from 1 to 4 P.M. and 5 to 9 P.M. A service celebrating the life of Vincent “Vince” B. Peterson will be held from Capital Community Church on Wednesday, October 5, 2011 at 1:00 P.M. with Rev. Jack Leaman officiating assisted by Rev. Willis Arbeau and Rev. Allen Lawson. Interment will be private. Pallbearers will be Leonard MacBeth, Glendon Dudley, Peter Estabrooks, Allen McCoy, Walter Brown and Tim Paul. The family suggests that memorial contributions be sent to The Institute of Pentecostal Ministries, Guatemala City, Guatemala (c/o Capital Community Church, Fredericton).
